Blow Up 2011 – 3 Bankroll Building Campaign Ideas

Although the holiday rush is over, there is still plenty of money to be made online.

The first thing to come to mind would probably be weight loss. How many people make empty resolutions to lose weight in the new year? How many of those people want it to be as easy as possible to lose weight? A lot.

Another opportunity would be to capture the ‘party’ atmosphere and the new year. Let’s take a look at 3 different ideas to make some money.

3 Campaign Ideas

While some traffic sources have effectively limited the amount of advertising you can do in certain niches or of certain products/services, it just forces you to be creative.

Idea 1 – Weight Loss

If you can get a little creative, you can probably make this work on Facebook, but it will be difficult. Instead, try it on PPV or search.

What: Any weight loss product – Pick whatever you want, but don’t be afraid to test different offers. Clickbank, acai, male muscle, etc.

How: Holiday/new year theme – Explain how it is very common for people to gain extra weight during the winter months and how effective products can help shred pounds. Make your pages compelling and use action words. Describe the benefits of the product/service you are promoting.

When: The new year theme should be effective from now until the end of January, when all the lazy people fall off and resume their previous lifestyle. The holiday weight loss theme can work a little bit longer, as people with that mindset are typically more long term with their goals. This can carry you over until the spring weight loss rush!

Be as creative as you can with this and don’t be afraid to push the envelope a little.

Remember - describe the benefits!

Idea 2 – IQ Quiz

This is one of the oldest campaigns and it is everywhere. The key to filling your bank account using this campaign is to be different.

What: Your favorite IQ offer – The best would be to use a general one that allows landers so you can build custom LPs around specific niches.

How: Target popular new year’s music artists and celebrities or make little quizzes about 2010 or 2011. HINT: Shock pages work! (Make sure you follow laws when using music artists or celebrity names/pictures to avoid legal troubles).

When: Now! This can work throughout the year, but if you want to jump on the party theme and the youngsters searching for music artists right now, go build some campaigns.

Again, creativity is key here. I see the same type of banners all over the place and I know from experience that building something different, even slightly, can absolutely dominate the existing ads.

Idea 3 – Credit Score/Report

Another year-round offer that truly dominates, but the job market starts growing at the beginning of the year. Capitalize on that.

What: Any credit score/report offer.

How: Target people looking for a job. Stress the fact that having a bad credit score may negatively affect their chances of getting a job. The other thing would be to tell them they can get a step up on the competition (other people seeking jobs) as most people are relatively passive with their job search so taking initiative sets them above the competition. Also, people may be looking to move or buy new things, especially with all the year-end sales on cars. Explain how individuals who do not know their score are at a severe disadvantage for getting that loan.

When: Depending on how you plan to tackle this offer, it can work year round. However, if you plan to target the jobless or those buying new things, work with it for the next month or so.

Many of the credit offers are branded extremely well and spend a lot of money advertising on TV/radio. Use that to your benefit.

I know for a fact these campaigns make money, and the key is to be as creative as possible.

If you don’t know where to start, pick one idea and build it out. In my experience, when you are stuck, pick one thing and hammer it until you get it working. Obviously have a break-point in mind, but keep at it.

Good luck, and have a Happy New Year!

Hey great post. The error is with your Wasssup plug-in. At least that’s what the on screen error is saying. Anytime I have had errors it was to to the installation process. I have had similar errors and what I did was uninstall the plugin and don’t reinstall it in Wordpress. Instead go into your FTP and upload the files manually there is probably a separate folder that needs to go in a diff directory. You want to check w/ the Plugin Author

Thanks Bryan. I have had a few people contact me about the plugin but cannot seem to trigger the error myself.

I’ll re-install it and see if that helps.

Great post Jeremy, I am currently working on zip/email submits, but I am definitely looking forward to shifting to IQ quizzes to build up some testing capital for credit report offers, thanks for the ideas!

Great post, Jeremy, and Happy New Year! Some really great ideas in this post. I especially like your point at the end about leveraging TV/radio campaigns of big brand advertisers to your advantage.
All the best,
